Here’s a recent poetry reading I’m incredibly proud of. The HWA Open Mic for July with Linda D. Addison.
“Join
in a star studded kick off for Halloween in July 2024. Joining us to read their works of poetry and prose are Pixie Bruner, , Jeff Oliver, ayana walker, , John Lane, and .”Such amazing writers to read with, including my poetry group member and friend, ayana walker, author of Daddies, Demons, and the Dawn. That book is devastating perfection!
Me making Linda say “Holy Macaroni” (we were on our best behavior!) and laugh at dismemberments in my poem is a peak personal moment in my writing career so far.
Linda D. Addison’s reading of her collaborative poem with Alessandro Manzetti “The Yellow House” from the collection The Place of Broken Things just destroyed me emotionally.
A good reading with great poets leaves me drained and this entire reading poet after poet, demolished and gutted me emotionally. It was beautiful anguish!
I read “Here is- (Spark)”, a unpublished poem in submission for a serious intergalactic horror publication moonshot , and a slightly shorter alternative form of “You’d Be _______ If _______”
