“Glow the Hell Up”

This video is a living room recorded reading of my spoken word/poem “Glow The Hell Up” from August 2024.

It is about bullies playing the victim. How villainess’s are always beautiful in Disney, how archetypes can be inverted, how fear is a socially transmitted disease, and that for every woman who is shown as a monster, there’s a backstory we neglect.

Become your best villainess/villain. If they’re going to come at you with pitchforks and torches, dress the part you’ve been cast in!

“If I am to be a villainess of your story, if there is to be a witchhunt, and I am to be dressed like a deer, gutted, and hoisted from the hanging tree, demands that the scared-of-you villagers, all terrified they’ll be next, come for me with pitchforks and torches to drive me out… I would, at least, like a glow-up…”
